Casey stepped close to Jake, hooking her thumbs into the elastic band of his gym shorts.
“We can find out.”
“We sure can.”
She stepped up on her tiptoes and Jake closed the distance between them, locking his lips onto hers. The effect of the kiss was immediate, the exact same electricity that she’d felt the night before. He put his hands on her waist, bringing her body against the flat plane of his muscles.
Casey let the kiss linger for moments before she pulled her lips back and grinned.
“Now I definitely know you’re up to something,” he said.
“I am. But I think you’ll like what I’ve got in mind.”
Casey planted one more quick kiss on his lips before moving her mouth down, over his strong, jutting chin, down his thick neck, across his sculpted pecs, and on each chiseled ab. She tasted his sweat, sweet on her tongue. When she’d finally gone down to his waist, her knees on the cool dirt, Casey pulled his shorts down and let his cock spring out in front of her.
In the clear light of day, it was even more beautiful, even more delicious looking. She teased him with more kisses, but she couldn’t resist what she wanted for long. Her mouth moved to his balls, then his shaft, and finally to his head. When Casey wrapped her lips around his cock, the sweet and salty taste of his precum filled her mouth as surely as his prick.
Jake let out a groan as Casey took more and more of him into her mouth, her eyes flicking up to watch his face tighten with pleasure and his muscles twitch and contract. She loved pleasuring him, loved servicing him and making him feel good with nothing more than her lips, tongue, and hands.
She stroked him as she sucked, the sounds of her lips on his skin filling the air. Jake glanced down now and then, watching her work on her knees.
But before too long, he reached down and lifted her.
“You don’t want me to finish?” she asked.
“As much as the idea of spraying down your throat turns me on, I got other ideas.”
She loved it. She loved the way he commanded her, put his hands on her hips and turned her around against the nearest tree. Having an alpha in control was like nothing else, and all she wanted to do was please him, to make him feel good.
He pulled down her jeans, the morning air cool against her ass. Then he took hold of his cock, dragging it against her slit and sending a wave of delight through her body. She pressed her ass against him and moaned, wordlessly asking for what she wanted, what she craved.
“You want this cock inside of you?” he asked.
“I do...I do...”
She could barely speak, the anticipation so great. With one more hard slap on her ass, Jake drove his cock into her, filling Casey in the way only he could. He groaned as he pushed into her, and Casey sighed.
His cock was perfect inside of her, like a key into a lock. She wondered if his sort of connection, alpha and omega, was what her life had been missing for so long.
But the moment he pulled back and thrust into her again, her fantasy returned to mind, the one of not only Jake, but him and his brothers.
She closed her eyes as Jake began to pound her like a jackhammer, thoughts of him and his brothers working her all at once, one cock in her pussy, another in her mouth, and another in her hands.
It was all too much. After several glorious minutes of pounding, Casey came hard, the fantasy still in mind. Jake grunted and unloaded into her, his cock pulsing between her walls.
The hot blast of cum inside of her pushed Casey’s orgasm to another level, and she squirmed her ass against his front as they both finished.
When they were done, Jake turned Casey around and planted one more kiss on her lips.
“I meant it,” he said. “About being there for you and protecting you.”
“I know you did.”
Another kiss. They dressed and were soon on their way back to the camp. Casey loved the feeling of his seed inside of her, warm and rich. She wanted to carry it with her all day, Jake’s gift to her.
When they reached the pack grounds, she spotted a figure running toward them.
It was Hunter.
His legs pumped as he cut the distance between them, an intense expression on his face.
Something was up.
“Hey!” he said. “You guys!”
He stopped in front of Jake and Casey, his blue eyes flicking back and forth between the two of them.
“What’s going on?” asked Jake. “There trouble?”
“We just got a call from Dad,” he said. “Something’s gone down in Chicago.”
“What?” asked Casey. “What’s gone down?”
He shook his head. “Come with me. I’ll fill you in there. But we need to go back now. Shit’s getting crazy.”
They took off toward the alpha cabin, and Casey scolded herself for thinking there’d be a moment’s peace.
But she knew she could handle whatever was next.
CHAPTER 12
HUNTER
He knew what was up right away. Hunter was as smart as they came, the kind of guy who barely had to try at school to make it to the top of his class. But it didn’t take a genius to figure out what Jake and Casey had been up to in the woods.
But he didn’t mind. A situation like that might make a human, or maybe a beta shifter, jealous. He didn’t feel that at the idea of his brother fucking Casey. If anything, it only made him want her even more.
It wasn’t the time to be thinking about anything like that, however. The four of them were seated at the round table in the main room of the alpha cabin, ready to discuss their next move.
“All right,” said Jake, his palms on the table as he leaned forward. He was in nothing but his gym shorts, and Hunter couldn’t help but find the sight a little funny, despite what was going on. “What’s the situation? What did Dad say?”
“He called a little bit ago,” said Bryce. “Said that there’d been an attack.”
“What kind of attack?” asked Casey.
“Sullivan’s,” said Bryce.
“What’s that?” asked Casey.
“This bar in Chicago,” said Hunter. “Popular shifter hangout. Last night, a group of Saw Bones raided the place, killed a handful of shifters there.”
“What?” growled Jake. “Are you fucking serious? Why?”
“Because,” said Bryce. “You know that joint was where some of the Redtooths in the city liked to go. Dad thinks they wanted to send a message that anyone who could be helping us, or even providing a place for us to stay, wasn’t safe.”
“Maybe it was because of the raid last night?” asked Casey.
Bryce spoke up. “I told Dad about it, and he seems to think it might be the case. The Moon Beasts aren’t strong enough to attack us directly, and there’s a chance the rest of the packs against us haven’t recovered enough to finish us off. But attacking us in the city was something they could do.”
“Fucking hell,” said Jake. “And I bet they took out members of packs that weren’t ours, too.”
“Yep,” said Hunter. “And it might have the effect of scaring other packs out of helping us out.”
“Then we have to do something,” said Casey. “Let the know they aren’t going to get away with it.”
“Right,” said Hunter. He had to suppress a grin. He loved how eager Casey was, how fearless.
“But we can’t all go to Chicago,” said Jake. “Some of us have to stay here to keep an eye on things.”
“Yep,” said Hunter. “That’s why two of us are going to stay; two are going to leave.”
“But which two?” asked Jake.
“Me and Casey,” said Hunter.
“What?” asked Bryce. “Why?”
“Because Casey is part of the future of this pack,” said Hunter. “And she’s going to need to meet Dad sooner or later. And not only that, I know the city better than any of us. We can take the family jet into the city, meet with Dad, do some recon, and see what we can find.”
Jake sat back, crossing his big arms over his stomach. “But this might be what they want—to separate us.”
“Maybe,” said Hunter. “But I still don’t think they’re strong enough for their final attack. You two should be enough to get the rest of the betas into fighting shape while we’re gone. And if we can take out the wolves who attacked Sullivan’s, it’d be a message to packs thinking of allying with us that we’re still strong and can protect them.”
Jake and Bryce regarded one another, neither saying a word.
“It’s what we need to do,” said Casey. “We can fly in and be back in a couple of days. And then when we’re here again, we can plan to strike back. Maybe we can take the offensive, take out Byron before he has a chance to attack us again.”
Hunter grinned again, loving her fearlessness. She was a strong omega, no doubt about that.
“OK,” said Bryce. “But we all need to stay in contact the whole time, keep one another in the know.”
“We will,” said Hunter. “Communication’s the key.”
As he said the words, he found himself wondering how true they were, if Jake was planning on telling the other brothers that he’d mated with Casey, maybe even imprinted on her.
Didn’t matter at that moment.
“Dad said that he’d get the private jet gassed and ready to go,” said Hunter. “It’ll be waiting for us at the airport.”
“Oh,” said Casey. “And one more thing.”
“What’s that?” asked Jake.
“My Dad...”
The brothers shared a look. Hunter knew what she had in mind, that her father wouldn’t be in good shape without his daughter to take care of him.
“I’ll handle it,” said Bryce. “After the meeting, I’ll go right over there and let him know that I’ll be there if he needs anything.”
Casey smiled slightly. “Thank you, Bryce. That means a lot.”
Hunter got up and clapped his hands. “Then let’s move. Every minute that passes since the attack is a minute we look weak. And we can’t afford weakness right now.”
There was nothing else to be said. Hunter and Casey left the cabin, making their way to the small parking area where a few cars were. He took out the keys for the black Mercedes that he and his brothers had driven to the pack grounds from the airport, and moments later, the two of them were inside.
Hunter drove, the two of them leaving the grounds and taking the winding path back to civilization, toward the small airport where their private jet awaited them.
“You think this is a bad idea?” asked Casey.
“What? I mean, which part?” he grinned.
“Two of us on our own...”
There was something more to that statement—was she asking what would happen between her and Hunter if they were together? Truthfully, he liked the idea of it.
“We’re two powerful wolves,” he said. “We’ll be able to handle anything that prick Byron throws our way. And my dad will be there to help if we need anything. Hate to pull the ‘rich dad’ card, but money helps. With a phone call, he can hire some mercenary shifters if we need numbers on our side.”
“Right,” said Casey.
There was something more on her mind, and he could tell. And he knew it was probably the same thing on his—what would happen when they were alone together.
The rest of the drive was in silence, and thirty or so minutes later, they were at the small airport, the jet waiting for them.
“Pretty nice,” said Casey when they climbed out.
“Dad makes good money,” he said.
Casey’s mouth formed into a flat line, and as they made their way to the plane, he thought about her father. They’d gone different directions, one into the bottle and the other into his work. But the end result had been the same—fathers they couldn’t reach.
They were soon in the plane and strapped, the engines whirring as the plane started down the runway. Hunter watched as the expanses of forests stretched out into the far distance.
Casey looked preoccupied—something was on her mind.
“What’s up?” asked Hunter as he undid his seatbelt and made his way over to the plane’s espresso machine.
“Just thinking about my dad.”
He nodded. “What about him?”
“Just...well, your dad too.”
Hunter laughed. “In that case, what about them?”
Casey gestured to the spacious interior of the private plane, the two of the them the only people inside, other than the pilots in the cockpit. “All of this is because of his hard work. Sure, he’s out in Chicago, but he’s given so much to the pack. Where would we be without him and the money his business earns?”
“I suppose you’re right,” said Hunter as the espresso machine came to life. “But it means I barely get to see the old man. Even when we were living in the city, he never had time for us.”
“At least he was busy with something useful. My dad...I don’t know what’s going to happen with him.”
The machine filled two white cups with coffee, and Hunter brought them over, sitting down next to Casey.
“I don’t know either,” said Hunter. “But you’re there for him—that’s what’s important. And Bryce will be there for him while you’re gone.”
She shook her head. “Crazy how we both lost our moms but our dads went in totally different directions.”
“People cope in their own ways.”
“You know,” he said. “It’s good to be working together with you.”
“You mean to save the pack? What other option do we have?”
“I know. But the way things were in high school.”
She allowed herself the first smile he’d seen since they’d gotten on the plane. “You mean how we acted like know-it-alls, totally in competition with one another to be the best?”
“Yep,” he said with a laugh. “Ridiculous now. All we cared about was our GPAs and outdoing each other. And now we’re adults and—”
She smiled and finished. “Now we’re seeing that there are more important things in life than grades.”
“Very true.” Hunter grinned. “But I was still the brainier of the two of us, you know.”
Casey laughed. “Bullshit. You’re the one who had to copy my work, remember?”
“Oh, you mean the night we studied together? That wasn’t me copying your work; I was just double-checking stuff. Wanted to see if you’d gotten to your answers in the same way I had.”
She laughed again. “I’m sure. You’re smart, Bryce, and part of being smart is being able to come up with good bullshit excuses for things.”
“Well,” said Hunter. “I think the rest of that night was pretty fun, too. You know, the parts where we weren’t studying.”
Silence fell. She knew what he was talking about, how that night of studying had been when the sexual tension between them had finally broken, when they’d given in to one another and spent the night making love.
Casey blushed. “I mean...we were studying that night. But not the work.”
Studying each other’s bodies, he considered. And for Hunter, Casey’s body, the way her face looked as she reached orgasm, was still fresh in his mind. He still wanted her, wanted to claim her for his own.
She chewed her lip as she stared ahead, and he wondered what was on her mind. Was she thinking the same thing as him? Sure, it was hardly a secret that Jake had claimed her last night, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t do the same.
But she’d have to give herself over to him. He had no idea if that was something she was ready for.
“Anyway,” said Casey. “We’ve got a long day ahead. Think I’m going to take a nap during the flight.”
“Good call,” said Hunter.
Their coffee went untouched as Casey laid her head back against the seat and closed her eyes. Hunter wanted to stay awake, to think about what was ahead for the both of them. But between the softness of the couch and the white noise of the airplane engine, he wa
s soon out.
He woke up to the chime of the seatbelt signs going on. Then he glanced down and saw that Casey’s head was on his lap, his arm around her shoulders.
Ah, fuck, he thought, his eyes on her chest as it rose and fell. Not the best way to start this one-on-one trip.
But as much as he knew it wasn’t a good idea, he couldn’t help himself. Hunter sat there, not moving, not waking her up.
The plane lowered, and as it broke through the cloudbank, Casey slowly opened her eyes.
“We...we there?”
“We’re here.”
Her eyes flashed with alertness, and she quickly realized what she was doing, how she was laying. Casey sat up, looking around, her face turning a tinge of red.
“Shit, sorry. Kinda just fell over when I was asleep, I guess.”
“It’s fine. My lap’s pretty comfy—can’t say I blame you.”
“Well, comfy aside from that.” Casey pointed at the tenting of the denim at Hunter’s crotch. He was fully hard, the nearness of Casey making him so turned on, he couldn’t believe it.
She smirked, and he did it right back.
So much for keeping it lowkey how much I want to fuck her.
But he had a pretty good idea she felt the same way. The plane lowered, and Hunter reached over to take his phone from where he’d plugged it in. He checked the screen, seeing nothing from his father.
“Huh.”
“What?”
“Would’ve expected Dad to have texted me. Nothing, though.”
“Does he usually keep tabs on you like that?”
“Kinda, yeah. Always wants to know what his boys are up to. And I sent him a text before we left, letting him know we were on our way.”
Hunter shook his head, dismissing the thought.
“Whatever. He’s probably busy. I’ve got a key to his place anyway, so it doesn’t matter.”
The plane soon landed, and as much as Hunter wasn’t the worrying type, not hearing anything from his father put him ill at ease. When the plane came to a stop on the runway, he got out along with Casey, taking the stairs down to the ground. A car awaited them, and once they were in the backseat, he took out his phone and gave his father another call.
