Jake leaned in and put his mouth on one, lashing it with his tongue. Casey sighed and tilted her head back, letting him kiss and suck her. He continued to open his robe, undoing the sash and exposing the rest of her perfect, shapely body.

He kissed down, down, further along her body, over her flat stomach, down to the small patch of hair above her pussy. Once he was there, he caught her scent, and it drove him wild. The more he kissed her, the more he felt his animal, his inner alpha, on the verge of breaking through.

His kisses were passionate at first, but soon his animal began to take over. He felt less like a man and more like a beast in desperate need of a rut. Casey’s hands moved over his broad, powerful shoulders as he kissed further to where he wanted. She pulled off his shirt, and as she did, he crossed the last bit of distance between his mouth and her pussy.

  “You want this?” he growled.

  “I want it so bad.”

“You want me to lick you good, see your juices all over my mouth?”

  “I...I do...”

  “Then what do you want?”

“I want...I want you to take me over to that bed and fuck me good. Please.”

Hearing her beg managed to make his cock even harder. He wrapped his arms around her hips and pulled her onto her back before shoving his face into the perfect pink line of her cunt. Jake spread her open, his tongue darting out over her clit, a pair of his fingers entering her and moving in and out, Casey bucking her hips against his touch.

He ate her with wild abandon, his tongue moving all over her clit and lips, her taste so fucking good, he could hardly think straight.

“Just like that,” she moaned. “Just like that.”

He didn’t have any intention of stopping. Jake licked and fingered her until he felt her body rock with an orgasm, her back arching before him as she grabbed her breasts.

When the orgasm faded, Jake was ready for what she wanted next. He scooped her up, effortlessly lifting her slender body and carrying her over to the bed. Once there, he laid her down gently before positioning his body over top of her.

Casey undid his shorts, quickly having them off his body, Jake’s long, thick cock dripping and hard.

“You want this inside of you?” he asked with another growl.

“Yeah...” she moaned. “I want it like crazy.”

“Then...I want you to give yourself over to me.”

The words came out of his mouth, and he could barely believe he’d said them. Asking that wasn’t a matter of simple dirty talk—asking an omega to give herself to an alpha was something huge.

It was an imprinting. It’d make Casey his omega, to care for and protect.

But as soon as he’d spoken, he knew he’d meant it. All he could do was wait for her answer.

  “Yes,” she said. “I do.”

And that was that. Jake took hold of his cock and put it between her lips. And as he did, a warmth flowed through his body. It was a happiness he couldn’t get a handle on.

He cared for Casey, always had—like he’d said. And now he was ready to claim her.

Jake positioned his cock between her lips and, with a slow push, entered her. He let out a moan as he slid into her, remembering how good she felt, how tight she was.

She gripped him hard with her velvet walls, Casey’s hands moving to his ass and pushing him down as he raised his hips for another plunge.

Jake moved in and out of her, lifting his body and crashing down hard on top of her. His cock filled her again and again, her breasts bouncing back and forth from the impact.

He watched Casey’s eyes close, her face wince in pleasure. Then her mouth formed a wide “O” of total ecstasy. Jake continued to thrust in and out of her, grabbing her ankles and holding them up, pulling her legs apart and watching his cock disappear into her pussy.

Then Casey’s eyes went wide, and she gripped him even tighter, her nails digging into his back as she came hard.

Jake couldn’t hold back any longer. His cock erupted inside of her as he let out one last long grunt of pleasure, his prick spraying his seed deep into her pussy.

He knew it was a bad idea—an alpha and an omega mating like that only had one outcome.

But he didn’t care, and neither did she.

When they were both done, he collapsed on top of her, his chest rising along with hers.

“That...,” he said. “Was even better than the first time.”

She laughed, his cock still inside of her.

“I’m sure you remember it well.”

“You know I do,” said Jake. “And I know you do, too.”

“OK. Maybe I do. And maybe I remember how much I liked you.”

  “Like you.”

“Don’t push your luck,” she said with a grin.

  They kissed again, slowly, tenderly.

And when they were done, he held her close, Casey’s slim body curled into his. Together, they watched the fire, listened to the sound of the rain on the wood of the cabin.

Jake understood it was only the beginning. Things were going to get more complicated, and he had to be ready.

They both had to be ready.

  CHAPTER 11

  CASEY

When she woke up the next morning, she was halfway convinced what had happened was only a dream, a fantasy like the one she’d had before.

But when she laid eyes on Jake, who was still sleeping, she realized it wasn’t a figment of her imagination. She’d really slept with Jake Stone, given herself over to the man she swore she’d only sleep with one time.

He opened his eyes slowly, those piercing blues looking right through her.

  “Morning,” he said.

  “Morning.”

And then there was silence. She didn’t know what to say. Part of her felt like she’d made a mistake.

“Come on,” he said. “Don’t be like that.”

  “Like what?”

“Acting like you don’t know what to do, or if you made the right call. You did, Case. You and I hooking up again was years in the making. Just go with it—enjoy it.”

As much as she didn’t want to admit it, his confidence and charm were putting her at ease. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close as he’d done the night before, and Casey let her head rest on his chiseled chest.

“But you claimed me last night,” she said. “That’s not the same as two people just hooking up.”

“It’s whatever we want it to be. You want it to be something, it can be something. You want it to be just an alpha and omega doing what an alpha and omega do, then it can be that.”

Part of her wanted to tell him it wasn’t that simple. There was a chance, after all, that he could’ve...

She didn’t want to think about it. Too much going on for her to even think about worrying about that.

“We ought to get back,” she said. “We don’t have the luxury of spending the day here.”

“I know,” he said. “But you have to admit it’d be fun. Just the two of us—the two of us and this bed...”

She laughed and slapped him playfully on his toned stomach. As much as she was conflicted about everything, she had to admit how fucking hot his body was. Years of sports and exercise had gone into that body, and the result was nothing short of godlike.

“Maybe after all this is done,” she said. “But we’ve still got the rest of the pack to worry about.”

  “Right, right.”

“And what about the Moon Beasts?”

“Them? They’re not shit. Definition of all bark and no bite. The Redtooth pack is in a bad state, but even now, we could kick their asses. The best they can hope for is linking up with Byron and the rest of them and attacking us together.”

He got up and made his way over to the remnants of the fire, taking his clothes off the chair. Casey let her eyes linger on his perfect ass while he put on his clothes.

  “You ready to move?”

  “I’m ready.”

  They both dress
ed, and Casey had to resist the temptation of taking him back to the bed for another round. The sex had been amazing—no sense in denying it. But it had all happened so quickly that she knew she had to think about it before letting him inside of her again.

As much as she wanted it.

Together, they stepped out of the cabin, the morning air crisp and clean. They shifted into their wolf forms and made their way back to the Redtooth grounds.

“I need to check on my dad,” she said. “He’s...”

“He’s in a bad way,” said Jake. “I know—I’ve heard.”

“It’s...I don’t know what to do.”

Jake shook his head. “You can’t do anything other than be there for him. And that’s something I know you’re good at.”

Casey paused, not sure what to make of this side of Jake that she’d never seen—or at least thought she’d never seen—before.

He kissed her on the cheek.

“Come back to the alpha cabin when you’re done. We’re going to need to plan our next step.”

  “I will.”

And that was that. Casey and Jake broke apart, and she was alone. As soon as he was gone, all she wanted was for him to come back.

What the hell is this? Is this all because I let him imprint on me? Am I stuck with Jake for the rest of my life now? Did I make a huge mistake?

All those questions and more whirled through her head as she walked the rest of the way back to her house.

And once she arrived, she spotted something on the floor in front of the door.

  Another envelope.

She snatched it up, her heart racing. Casey opened the door and, as expected, saw her father on the couch, the TV still going.

  “Dad?”

He grumbled and rolled over, nearly knocking down the bottle of vodka on the coffee table. She had no idea whether he was still out from last night or already passed out from that morning. But he looked in decent shape, considering.

After checking to make sure he was OK, Casey hurried to her room and shut the door. Once inside, she jumped onto the bed and opened the letter, this time, her eyes going right to the bottom.

It was anonymous, just like the other. And just like the other, it was...beautiful. The writing was flowery and lovely, going on and on about her beauty, letting her know how much he admired her, wished he could make her his.

For a moment, she wondered if it was Jake. But it couldn’t have been—he’d been with her all night. And not only that, such writing wasn’t really his style. He might’ve known his way around a weight room, but writing had never struck her as his thing.

She read the letter over and over as if it held some secret code that would reveal the identity of the writer. But there was nothing, of course. Just beautiful words and genuine emotion. There were no references to past events, things she and the writer had done before. But it was clear that whoever had written it, he knew her well.

Casey opened the nightstand drawer and tucked the letter inside, next to the other. Then she laid back on the bed, her mind racing as she processed the events of the previous night.

She and Jake had slept together. And it was more than just sex. He’d imprinted on her, vowed to protect her. An alpha and an omega being together like that was no small thing, and in the weeks ahead, she knew she’d find out what the extent of it all was, what it would mean for her future.

Casey heard a rumbling in the living room, followed by groaning. Her dad was up, and she decided to go check on him.

“Fucking hell.” James spoke the words when she opened the door to her bedroom and stepped into the living room.

Her Dad sat up from the couch, rubbing his temples.

  “How’re you feeling, Dad?”

He glanced over at her. “About how I look—like total shit.”

Casey stepped over to the couch and sat down next to him. She put her hand on his shoulder and gave it a squeeze. James groaned again, and as he did, she looked around the living room. She’d been so busy recently that she hadn’t had a chance to notice, but the place looked like hell. Garbage was everywhere, the floors were dirty, and months of neglect had caused the paint to start peeling from the walls.

And the kitchen wasn’t looking any better. Dishes piled in the sink, beer cans and liquor bottles everywhere. The house was in a bad state, not looking much better than the abandoned cabin where she and Jake had spent the night before.

“Maybe today’s the day, Dad,” she said, tapping the top of the nearly empty bottle of booze. “Maybe you could give this up.”

“And then what?” he asked. “With my bum leg, I wouldn’t be any damn use to the pack.”

“You could...I don’t know, supervise, lead some cleanup efforts. Heck, we could start with the house.”

He shook his head. “The Stone boys are here—they’re young and hungry and ready to lead. And they’ve got their Dad looking after them from Chicago. I’m just some worn-out old fossil alpha...best thing I can do is stay out of the way.”

She hated hearing her father talk like that, so miserable and down on himself. And worse than that, she knew it was bullshit—all it would take was a few days off the booze, a little time to recover, and he’d be the strong father she’d always known him to be.

But there was nothing to be done if he didn’t want it. He was stubborn like that, stubborn like all of the alpha men of the pack.

James reached forward and took the bottle of vodka, yanking off the top and bringing the lip to his mouth. When he was done, he wiped his face with the back of his hand.

“If there’s a future with this pack, it’s with you and the Stone brothers. You’re going to lead us. Case, you’re special, and there’s no doubt in my mind about that.”

“But that doesn’t mean you have to be...I don’t know, put out to pasture.”

“It means I’ll just be in the way. You need to start thinking about a life without me, Case. Think about a family of your own.”

She hated hearing her father talk like he was already dead. But there was nothing she could do.

Casey gave James’s shoulder one last squeeze before getting up and leaving the house. Once she was outside, she took a look at the exterior of the cabin. The outside was in just as bad shape as the inside. The lawn was overgrown, the plants were on the verge of death, and the house’s paint was faded and chipped. It occurred to her how much the house reminded her of her father: once proud and strong and now a worn-down imitation.

She strolled through the pack grounds, noting that the rest of the pack was beginning to put the place at least somewhat right. Trash had been picked up, broken branches tossed aside, and lawns being taken care of. But it would all be for nothing if another attack happened.

Casey spotted Jake with a group of younger wolves, him at the front. He led them in some exercises, his shirt off and nothing but a pair of very short gym shorts on his legs. She stopped, admiring his stunning body at work, doing the athletics that came so naturally to him. His muscles glistened with sweat, his voice booming as he instructed the younger betas.

And when he caught her looking, he grinned, cocky as ever.

“All right—take five. Don’t go too far.”

The group of younger betas dropped in exhaustion, and Jake jogged over to Casey. She couldn’t take her eyes off his body, and all she could think about was how it looked on top of her, the muscles flexing and tensing as he drilled her hard. Wetness formed between her legs as her mind went back to last night.

She wanted more—no doubt in her mind about it.

“Hey,” he said. “What’s up, nerd.” He grinned again, letting her know he was only messing around.

“Nerd, huh?” she smiled back. “So much for putting high school behind us.”

“Speaking of being behind...” another smirk, and she knew what was on his mind. The idea of being on all fours in front of Jake was too much to process.

“What’s the agenda for today?” she asked.

Getting the camp up and running, putting the new supplies to good use. Come on—let’s walk and talk.”

She kept staring at his body, unable to take her eyes off it. They walked around the campgrounds, away from the wolves until they were in the forest among the trees.

  “How’s pops?” he asked.

“Not good. I’m worried about him, Jake. He’s talking like he’s already dead.”

“Man’s in a bad spot. But we can pull him out of it. We need to give him a purpose, something to do.”

  “I know. But...”

He put his hand on her shoulder, and his touch on her body sent a wave of ease running through her.

  “We’ll get through this.”

  “I know.”

More silence and Casey knew the big question was still in the air.

“Anyway,” she said. “About last night...”

He laughed. “What about it? We fucked, we imprinted, and now...”

  “Right. And now what?”

“We sort it all out later. Bigger things to worry about.”

She glanced down at his shorts, the outline of his cock plainly visible. Casey bit her lip, more heat radiating out from her pussy.

  “Bigger things, huh?”

Jake laughed. “Got a one-track mind, huh?”

She glanced around, noticing that they were far from the campgrounds, where no one could see them. A smirk formed on her lips and ideas came to her mind.

“I know that face,” he said.

  “What face?”

“The one you get when you’re up to something.”

She stopped, shifting her weight from one hip to the other.

“Not up to something. Just thinking.”

  “And what about?”

“About last night. But...more about how much fun it was.”

He grinned, and Casey saw his cock twitch in his shorts, pulse just a little bit harder.

“It was fun. Good way to take our mind off things.”

“And...how would you feel about taking your mind off things right now?”

He laughed. “Told the betas to take five. Not sure what you’ve got in mind would be faster than that.”
